Patchwork Page

My boyfriend owns a digital camera so, the patchworks 2 and 3 were taken with that, the first was a scanned photo I took of it before I gave it away, the quality of the pictures enlarged isn't that good, but for a closer look click on the patchworks to see them a little clearer!

Patchwork 1 (The patchwork from hell). This was made for my ex-boyfriend Paul@sherpa.demon.co.uk who asked for these colours specifically. As far as I know, the miserable toad hasn't as yet used it, and I hope he pays for it sometime later. The duvet took me about 6/7 years to make - OK not full time work mind, but it was a long long time. The method I used was take a hexagonal piece of material (2.25") which I sewed onto a 2" hexagonal piece of paper.. Then when you have a number of bits of material attached to paper, then sew them together to make the nice duvet shown below. Patchwork 1
Patchwork 2 (Revenge of the killer patchwork). This was made for me! Its Dark blue, medium green and dark pink.. Sound horrible.. Well actually it looks quite good. This patchwork was actually on display in Olympia for a day! This took me 2 months to make !! This one was made with the stamps from "THE PATCHWORK STAMP CO" who make a neat idea which instead of thousands of bits of paper and a lot of sewing, you sew along some dotted lines and just sew it together, hence this took a much shorter time. I also found that making it in smaller segments of 6x6 blocks meant I saw it grow and so inspired me. Patchwork 2

Patchwork 3 (Return of the killer patchwork). This one took me a short while longer, it took about 6 months - I still had sore fingers from the previous one! This is dark pink, light pink and a sort of orange colour. Its the back of number two. This was also made with the stamps from "THE PATCHWORK STAMP CO", its much quicker, and ends up with a much nicer patch finish. This and the last were combined to make a nice summer duvet or bed throw. Having found I was allergic to the polyester or whatever its made of filling, I had a big problem trying to find a way of filling it, I attached a duvet cover on the inside, however the patchworks weren't made with a duvet cover in mind, so it didn't quiet fit but the duvet cover is suspended inside - I just hope it stays that way!
